Garlic has long been used in history as both a food and medicinal herb. It contains at least 33 sulfur compounds and 17 amino acids. The health benefits of garlic has been investigated extensively and is considered one of the best disease preventive foods. Garlic is known to enhance the immune system in preventing cold and flu symptoms.
Here is one of my favorite recipes with garlic when I get a sore or strep throat. It usually takes care of the problem within 24 hours.
Ingredients:
- 3-4 cloves finely minced garlic
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper powder
- 1 tablespoon raw local honey
Mix all of these ingredients together. Take a 1/2 tsp every 30-60 minutes. Swallow and let it coat the throat. And don’t wash it down with liquid. You want it to do it’s job by soothing the throat with the honey, bringing blood to the surface with the cayenne, and having the garlic do it’s anti-fungal/anti-bacterial/anti-viral job.
This is a safe and effective herbal remedy with no side effects.
